As of March 10 2013, R&R Homes of Loveland is the ONLY builder in the Loveland/Fort Collins area to be 100% committed to building new Energy Star homes.

Our new homes are usually receiving HERS scores of less than 60 so your new home is approximately 40% or more energy efficient than a standard new home. Not only will you save money every month on your utility bills, your indoor air quality and comfort is better. Another benefit is the likely higher resale value you will have in the future when you can brag about your HERS score and show prospective buyers the Energy Star report.

Any builder can install a high-efficiency furnace and try to say their new homes are energy efficient. If your home is not framed and insulated properly for air infiltration, you will still run your furnace or AC unit much more than a new R&R Homes Energy Star home. There are so many little things that are completed on your new Energy Star Version 3.0 home to make it so energy efficient and comfortable to live in. Another builder would not do voluntarily spend the time and money on these items. The catch is you cannot see most of these items once your new home is complete. R&R Homes guarantees these items were completed as we have an independent licensed third party, EnergyLogic, inspect the homes after insulation and when the home is complete to certify it as an Energy Star home.

There is no longer a Built Green certification program as it went away after the downturn in the economy in 2008 and 2009 due to funding issues. However, R&R Homes still adheres to the these principals by building new Energy Star homes, installing Energy Star appliances, using CFL bulbs where applicable and we recycle the majority of our lumber and cardboard.

October 21 2014 – A few people have asked me recently about Green Building and what does it mean. There are a few Green Building designations and organizations but I believe Green Building is mostly based on energy efficiency for your new home, greater indoor air quality and waste reduction. R&R Homes achieves all of these items with our Energy Star new homes here in Northern Colorado. We have been building Energy Star homes since 2007 and are now building all of our new homes to the Energy Star Version 3.0 program. We achieve greater indoor air quality over other new homes by building to the Energy Star program. We also help reduce waste by recycling the majority of our of lumber and cardboard used in the construction process. The local communities we build in such as Loveland have great recycling programs for the homeowners too.
